Open Box returns in 2025! Join CMS at Ibeam Brooklyn on Sunday, February 16 at 2pm for ad hoc improv trios and new collaborations. Names will be drawn from a hat for trios of 10 minutes each. This is a great opportunity to meet new collaborators in a low-pressure and fun environment.

Join CMS at Handbell Studio in Kingston, NY on Sunday, February 23 at 3pm for a performance by the Creative Improvisers Orchestra, featuring Peter Apfelbaum, Ingrid Sertso, Chuck Ver Straeten, Steve Gorn, Ilene Marder, Bill Horberg, Bill Ylitalo, Charlie Burnham, Kiki Ultan, Aliya Ultan, Chris Pasin, Josh Roseman, Jake Whitesell, Jessica Jones, Tony Jones, Marianne Osiel, James Harvey, Brittany Anjou, Julia Haines, Stuart Leigh, Mike Gassmann, Michael Bisio, Ken Filiano, Tani Tabbal, Joakim Lartey, and Savia Berger.
CMS supports Arts for Arts OUT Fest 2025! The OUT Fest tracks the history of FreeJazz development on the LES and surrounding areas. It was where the music and art developed in an intensely creative unbounded scene. We will celebrate and make space for this creativity to bring Light into these times with older and younger artists, as we build a future from the best of our past.
CMS is offering workshops on March 9 (at Ibeam, 168 7th St, Brooklyn, NY) and March 23 (at Figure 8, 188 Underhill Ave, Brooklyn, NY)! Participants can register for one or both workshops on each day.
